FAR VIEW COTTAGE
Located at Kilchoan, the cottage occupies a stunning coastal location with spectacular views over the sea to the Isle of Mull. A traditional Keeper's cottage it is beautifully situated for admiring magnificent sunsets and unwinding from the pressures of modern day life.
Far View Cottage offers beds for 8 (with plenty of room for more) and comprises: Large Living Room with splendid sea views. Dining Room. Very spacious, modern fitted Kitchen with a seperate Breakfast Room with oil-fired Esse cooker. Utility . Snug with open fire. Two separate downstairs W.C.'s. Three separate staircases to first floor leading to Four Bedrooms; two doubles and one twineach with sloping ceilings and en-suite Bathroom/WC , each with shower attachment , plus the further twin bedded room with sloping ceiling with a seperate upstairs Bathroom/WC. Tastefully decorated and spaciously laid out, it stands surrounded by its own large garden and just 400 yards from the ferry to Isle of Mull and the sea.
The village of Kilchoan boasts a community centre housing facilities for table tennis, pool and badminton, as well as a gym and cafe. Kilchoan is an excellent base for touring the Ardnamurchan Peninsula with its unmanned lighthouse at Ardnamurchan Point or the beautiful white sandy beaches of Sanna Bay with spectacular views over the Small Islands. An abundance of wildlife can be found along the coastline including seals, whales, dolphins, otters and numerous bird species.
Also worth a visit is Castle Tioram, perched on a rocky promontory jutting out into Loch Moidart, this atmospheric castle dates back to the 13th century and was once the seat of the MacDonalds of Clanranaid. Further afield, surrounding Loch Morar (home to Nessie's lesser known rival Morag) are the heather-decked mountains featured in the movie Rob Roy.
The beautiful Isle of Mull is easily accessible, and probably most famous for its attractive town of Tobermory, (known as Ballamory to our younger guests) its clusters of brightly coloured houses and boats sheltering in a by backed by a steep bluff. The Isle of Ulva, just off the west coast of Mull is a nature-lovers paradise. Fantastic walking country with several paths criss-crossing the rocky heather moorland, you're almost guaranteed to spot some of the abundant wildlife including deer, buzzards, golden eagles, sea eagles and seals.
